Casper, WY – DISA Technologies Inc. has finalized a commercial agreement with Eagle Mine, owned and operated by Lundin Mining, to deliver its first 100-ton-per-hour High-Pressure Slurry Ablation (HPSA) system, marking a major milestone in the industrial deployment of DISA’s breakthrough mineral processing technology.
The HPSA unit will be installed at Eagle Mine, a high-grade nickel and copper operation in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and integrated into the concentrator circuit to enhance mineral liberation ahead of flotation. The goal: improve recovery and downstream performance while minimizing energy use and fines generation.
“This is a defining moment for our technology and for DISA,” said Sam Palombo, Vice President of Business Development. “Eagle Mine is an exceptionally well-run operation and an ideal site to showcase what HPSA can do at industrial scale. We’re honored to be partnering with Eagle Mine, an organization that consistently demonstrates forward thinking and a commitment to innovative solutions in mining. Together, we aim to set a new benchmark for base metal recovery.”
Unlike traditional mills, HPSA requires no grinding media, generates minimal fines, and is delivered in a modular, skid-mounted design. The compact footprint and simplified installation make it well-suited for retrofits at existing operations and equally effective in greenfield projects seeking to reduce CAPEX, shorten lead times, and streamline plant design.
Project Overview:
· System Capacity: 100 tons per hour
· Ore Type: Nickel and copper sulfides
· Location: Eagle Mine, Michigan, USA
· Installation Timeline: Q4 2025
This project follows the Q3 commissioning of a 50 TPH HPSA unit at a phosphate operation in the U.S., further demonstrating the technology’s scalability and cross-sector impact.
“This is what modern mineral processing should look like; liberation without fines, recovery without expansion, and performance without disruption,” said Tim Lundquist, Global Director of Sales. “You don’t have to rebuild a concentrator to improve it. With HPSA, you just bolt on better outcomes.”
